Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents named her Winona for the town she grew up in. Michel Horowitz is her father, while Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder's parents have both been Jewish. Ryder believes herself to being Jewish. Uria is Ryder's younger sister. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are Ryder's half-siblings. Ryder's family relocated to Mendocino County to California when she was seven. At the time, there wasn't electricity. Ryder was a voracious reader and spent her time reading books as she had no television. When she turned 12 Ryder joined the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. In the year she turned 15years old, Ryder was offered her first acting job on the screen in Lucas. Ryder was subject to bullying in high school. She hoped acting would bring about a change. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. However, she kept working towards her dreams. Her breakthrough occurred in the year 1988, when Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder continued to play success in roles. In 1993 she received two nominations in the Academy Awards. One of them for her role in The Age of Innocence.
