Jillian Noel Shennessy, born November 25, 1968 in Canada is a Canadian actress and musician who was recognized for her significant contributions to American television. The most famous of her works are her amazing appearances on American television shows Law & Order (where she was awe-inspiring to viewers for three seasons as the prosecutor Claire Kincaid) and Crossing Jordan (where she played the protagonist Jordan Cavanaugh). Hennessy has also displayed her acting prowess in films like RoboCop 3 Most Wanted and the independent films Chutney Popcorn and The Acting Class and The Acting Class, in which she flexed her writing and co-directing muscles. Hennessy began her acting career alongside her sister in 1988 as twin call girls in Dead Ringers. The actress starred on Broadway as a part of the show Buddy The Buddy Holly Story in 1990. The Buddy Holly Story during the year 1990, and then entered the realm of sci-fi in 1993, playing Dr. Marie Lazarus in RoboCop 3. In the following year the biggest breakthrough came when she joined the NBC's sensational drama Law & Order to play District Attorney Assistant Claire Kincaid. Her three-season stint in the character was well-loved by the public. In 1996, she left the show. She received an Golden Globe Award for Best Actress as well as an Emmy Award. Parker received her 2001 Tony Award as Best Actress at the Broadway show Proof.
